Wear your heart on your chest!

A good old fashioned T-Shirt is one of the best friends a gal can have.
This one is my favorite.
Seriously. I LOVE it.

My sister bought it for my husband in 2008, and it's not really his style, so I took it off his hands and have worn it at least once a week since then.
It is from the H&M mens department. It feels super soft and I love that the stitching is a contrasting red to the grey fabric.
Most of my t-shirts are from the mens department because I like the way they skim instead of hug my tummy as much as a ladies tee does.

I recommend having a few band t-shirts that you can throw on with jeans and a cardigan on colder days.
I love when a band tee is worn like a plain tee and people throw on lots of jewellery, or a patterned jacket/cardigan with it.

I also really like it when people have messages on their t-shirts that make me smile like Miss Buttahlove(below)!

I'm still looking for a Rick Astley t-shirt in an XL, if anyone finds one, holla! :)

Who wears short shorts? Not I!

I know, I know, larger ladies hate shorts, but I live in Atlanta, it is hot as the devils armpit down here.
I admit that I prefer dresses in the heat, but sometimes, if you're going to be walking around then the chub rub is too much for a gal to handle. This is when city shorts come into play. I suggest a pair with some Lycra or spandex in them for extra comfort.
I got these gems from Ross for $5 years ago, I wear them sparingly because I'm terrified they'll fall apart, when I find another pair I love I'll buy them in multiples.

Jean pool

I heart my JEANS!
Every one has them, they're a pain in the arse to buy, but totally worth it when you find the right ones.
Most of my Jeans are from the Gap. I wear a size 20, so I have to order them on line, but I have been lucky enough to find a couple of pairs at the outlet mall. These are my "vintage wash flare" light blue pair. I also have them in a dark wash.
I paired my favorite jeans with this super girlie painterly top. My favorite thing about this top is the elastic black criss cross straps, I think they're a really cool detail. Good job Macys!

 Top- Macy's
Jeans- The Gap
Shoes- Payless
Earrings- Francesca's
Watch- Michael Kors
Lip gloss- MAC slimshine
Blush- MAC Peachy keen

Jeez, what a beautiful day!

I got these earrings this week, they're so pretty, They are a blush color, but look like they're glowing when you hold them up to the light. I am planning outfits around them from now on!

Top me off.

Have I told you how much my denim jacket makes me smile?
Well, it does, it's from Parisian; and cost me around $30.
It is the perfect thing to go over anything. I just have one rule for myself, and that's I don't wear my blue denim jacket with my blue jeans.Only really cool hipster girls can get away with that and I'm fine not being one of them.

It works over a fancy dress for a fancy party

or over a casual dress for a festival.
Or anything in between. I've had one in my closet for 17 years!

This is me (and my friend Nichola) 10 years ago! Ha ha!
Ours will be a love that lasts a lifetime!

In the shade.

My Missoni aviators are timeless. I will wear them until they fall apart. They've had a few accidents in their time; most noticeably the time I ran over them with my car! Oops.

Aviators are not for everyone, but I think they suit my face. I bought a pair in H&M when I was 15 and ever since they're my go to style.

I do have a few other pairs, but I keep going back to my Missonis. It was hard at first to spend a bit more money on shades, but they have never had a screw come loose, their legs have never bent and I've had them for 3 years. The lenses are scratched a little, but I'm sure I can take them somewhere to get them fixed.

These were my 2nd favorite pair, but they fell apart in my purse after 3 wears :(

I also really like the look of...
Christinas round frames
Heart shaped frames a la Katy and Kelly

and totally retro cat eyes (Not sure who this chick is but I LOVE everything about these).

Tell me about your favorite pair of sunnies?

I have a problem...

with HATS!
I love them! More than anyone should. I blame my grandad he wore one all the time!
I know they're not for everyone, but I feel a little more interesting, a little more mysterious, even, dare I say it, dangerous when I wear one. Really, I just like to wear stuff on my head or in my hair! Hairbands, clips, tiaras, wigs even. It's a cheap way to add a little personality to an outfit in a jiffy.

I wear my $6 straw fedora all the time! I got it from "The Icing" which is the tween accessories store where they will pierce your ears and nose...not sure about how sterile the mall is, but never mind, I digress.
Above outfit:
Hat- the Icing
Earrings- Vintage
Tank top- The Gap
Cardigan- Target
Jeans- The Gap
Shoes- Payless
Necklace- Topshop (gift from my sister)

It's a must for a questionable hair day :)

Slouchy hats are great! I added a flower hair pin to add some more pizazz to this basic black one.

I know you can't really see my hat in this picture, but it's a slouchy ombre knit that I wore until it literally fell apart (in a bar, when I caught it on a coat hook. R.I.P)

I have berets in a few different colors, I was wary about wearing a red beret with a red coat, but I think I rocked it!

I love this bow clip that JenyfferMaria made me!

These flower clips from Anthropologie are my favorites!

This was a Halloween costume, but I've actually found a few occasions that I could wear my tiny top hat to.

I used to wear this pink wig all the time when I worked in cosmetics. I should pull that out more often!
Or maybe not...Nicki Minaj kinda has the pink wig market covered.

My favorite dress

There are days when I don't know what to wear, days when someone asks me to do something randomly, or a day where I feel groggy or down. These are the days when I wear a dress. It's a no brainer because it's a complete outfit. I have a rack of dresses that I can wear to pretty much any occasion I can think of, the comfier the better.
Here's my favorite...

Dress- ASOS
Cardigan- Jigsaw (I'm so mad they closed :( )
Belt- braided t-shirt
Shoes- Anthropologie
Necklace- Vintage

I am so in love with these booties from Anthropologie.
I added the belt so that the eye is drawn to my neck line.

I was going out to lunch with a friend, so I decided to accessorize with 2 statement pieces; my boots and a long necklace. I have a dozen long necklaces in different colors because I feel like they elongate my body, I'm only 5'5, so I could use an extra inch or two :)

This dress is a little long for me, but I'd like to wear it with flip flops and a big floppy straw hat, or biker boots and a leather jacket if I were going to a bar or concert. I love the possibilities of an unfussy day dress!

Silly photo my husband took of me blowing kisses to the puppy that lives upstairs, he was barking up a storm when we were taking the photos.
