The prettiest dress

I know what you're thinking "Lynne, where the hell have you been?" And "will you ever stop wearing THAT shade of yellow?" Well, to  the second question, no. To the first, I got into a pretty horrible car accident that led to a stint in hospital. I'm ok, but I almost wasn't.
And then after that.... I have been at work. ALL.THE.TIME. My business partner has been on mandatory bed rest for a while which has meant that I have been working open to close every day. Things are nuts.
Anyway, it's nice to see you. I miss you. How are y'all doing?

Eye liner gods were smiling on me today :)

Shiver Shiver Sniff Sniff

The Tanzer household has been rather sad and sniffly this past week. We've been sharing our sicknesses with each other. This means that my outfits have consisted of pjamas and slippers I'm afraid, hence the lack of updates.
I have had time to browse all of my favorite clothing websites being cooped up in this place, so here is my "Holy guacamole Batman, I hope this is really cheap in the sales after Christmas so I can buy it and love it" list.

First ASOS Curve

Image 1 of ASOS CURVE Skater Dress With Lace Peter Pan and Belt
I love the sleeve length and sweet collar on this skater dress. It has a little keyhole in the back too. Details like this make a dress feel special.

Image 1 of ASOS CURVE Exclusive Shirt in Rabbit Print
This bunny print shirt is adorable. I would wear this at an art show opening.

Image 4 of ASOS CURVE Blouse With Waterfall & Wrap
This shirt is so luxe looking. I know I'd wear it forever.

Image 1 of ASOS CURVE Exclusive Jumper With Black Cat
This just makes me happy.

This outfit needs to get on me NOW!
Maybe it's the 90's kid in me. I think she looks like a grown up Clarissa :)

Image 1 of ASOS CURVE Exclusive Belted Coat with PU Sleeves
I never thought a coat could be sexy, but this is. *sigh*

Image 1 of ASOS CURVE Exclusive Dress In Scatter Sequins
When I first saw this dress I gasped....then I gasped at the price tag :(
Please be under $75 soon! I can't justify $147.76...or can I?It's just so pretty.

Ok, next up

This dress could work anywhere. I'm digging the watermelon color too.

I wear the heck out of my black and white tank, so one in my favorite color seems like a good idea.

This sweater would make anyone smile

This jacket is similar to an ASOS Curve jacket I still mourn the loss of.

I love basics with a twist.
There's only 1 thing I want from Old Navy

Women's Printed Pintucked Tops | Old Navy
I am feeling all these hearts everywhere.

Simply Be
has some pieces that I like a lot

Shoe Print Dress - Length from 38in
That's a shoe print dress!

And Abigial Sequin Trim Top

This shirt glows.

Jacquard Cardigan Coat - Length from 31in
This looks oh so cozy. I want to wear it with red jeans!
I also pretty much want all of the Frock and Frills line as it's so romantic.

So, that's it for now.
I'll be back with an outfit soon I swear.
UNless I can get away with wearing pjs to work tomorrow....

Here Kitty Kitty

My crazy pants obsession continues.
So what better then to pair my crazy pants with my crazy cat lady sweater?
This outfit was so comfy, I felt like I was wearing pj's to work.

I've been really weary of buying from Simply Be because their clothes are a little more expensive and I can't try them on obviously.
But these pants were a lovely addition to my wardrobe.
They're a lightweight material and have an elastic waist, so they're pretty much glorified pajamas.

It's Fall Y'all

Top-Forever 21+
Tank- Motherhood maternity
Skirt- GAP
Boots- Ross
Belt- ASOS Curve

I don't know where the time is going, but it's going and fast.
Yesterday me and my family went for a walk around Candler Park, the weather was beautiful. Even though it was 80 degrees, the leaves were falling, there was a breeze and I got to wear my Fall boots. Hooray! In HOTlanta you take your opportunities while you can.

My post baby body is different to how it used to be. My hips are wider, my belly is squishy in a way it hasn't been before, and my breasts are so tender that they only want to be in a soft sleep bra. This makes my pre-baby clothes fit differently; and honestly it's hard to get used to.
It may just be the sleep deprivation, or my body needing more time to heal, but I don't feel great in my skin. I think once I get back into working out I'll feel better (I hope I have the energy somehow), or I may just need time to adjust to my new shape. We shall see. I am actually very proud of what my body has accomplished, so I shouldn't beat myself up, I just need time...and until then I shall belt flowy tops to define my waist and wear "Look at me" footwear.

I'm so in love with these fringed boots. A major score at Ross for $30!

Any Moms out there feel the way I do? Does it get better?
I'd love to hear your thoughts.

35 wEEKs!

So, Atlanta is having a record breaking hot summer, wouldn't you know it?!
My English blood is boiling underneath my skin thanks to my built in heating pad that kicks me intermittently throughout the day, and develops hiccups around 6pm each day.
It's been a little rough getting ready recently, mainly because my feet and legs have swollen, so my shoes hurt and wearing a skirt leads to excessive chub rub, you feel me?

This is what I wore to get lunch with my buddy David yesterday as the temperature hit close to 100 degrees.

Shirt- Macys
Skirt- Forever 21+ bodycon skirt
Belt- ASOS.com
Sparkly Flats- Bakers

Yup, there's definitely something other than lunch in there!

Earrings- Francescas
Nail Polish- Butter London in "Bossy Boots"- Spring 2012 Ltd Edition

I have to say, that I haven't bought much "maternity" clothing, other than some bras, a pair of shorts and a pair of jeans because I've just been wearing anything that is floaty or stretchy.  I also had a couple of maternity tops before I was pregnant because they had a little more room in the belly area, and lets face it, even though you only need maternity clothes for a few months even they are cuter than most plus size threads. Grumble grumble.
It's so strange as a fat girl to embrace a belly, we've grown up learning "tips and tricks" to disguise it, so it feels a little liberating to not suck in, or wonder if I look extra fat in something.
I may have become one of those serene mothers to be...
...until I stand up and my feet look like this...

My feet are so very swollen  that even these flats hurt after an hour :(

Southern Uncomfortable

Halloween is so fun, I love an excuse to wear a sparkly fedora, have gunfights in bars and wear an inappropriate length skirt!

Jacket- Macys
 Skirt- Gap
Lace shirt- Forever 21
Pocket watch- Gift from my sister
Fedora- Halloween store
Tights- ASOS (ones with seams down the back)

Mike, the karaoke DJ scared the shit out of me with this wolf mask. It even moved when he talked. Creeeepy!

My friend Mark was visiting from England. We did an excellent rendition of Warren G and Nate Dog's "Regulate".
We also have to make sure that there's a photo of us throwing up the "A-Town" sign before we go to bed.
Anyone wanna marry this guy real quick so we can hang out all the time. There are so many more 90's rap choons we need to do at SoCo.

Hope y'all had a happy Halloween!

My good friend David Jennings took some snaps of me and my business partner Krystle last week. It was 100 degrees, we were miserable, but he's such a good make up artist that you'd never know! Good job David!

My favorite dress

There are days when I don't know what to wear, days when someone asks me to do something randomly, or a day where I feel groggy or down. These are the days when I wear a dress. It's a no brainer because it's a complete outfit. I have a rack of dresses that I can wear to pretty much any occasion I can think of, the comfier the better.
Here's my favorite...

Dress- ASOS
Cardigan- Jigsaw (I'm so mad they closed :( )
Belt- braided t-shirt
Shoes- Anthropologie
Necklace- Vintage

I am so in love with these booties from Anthropologie.
I added the belt so that the eye is drawn to my neck line.

I was going out to lunch with a friend, so I decided to accessorize with 2 statement pieces; my boots and a long necklace. I have a dozen long necklaces in different colors because I feel like they elongate my body, I'm only 5'5, so I could use an extra inch or two :)

This dress is a little long for me, but I'd like to wear it with flip flops and a big floppy straw hat, or biker boots and a leather jacket if I were going to a bar or concert. I love the possibilities of an unfussy day dress!

Silly photo my husband took of me blowing kisses to the puppy that lives upstairs, he was barking up a storm when we were taking the photos.

5 Years!

I made my wedding anniversary very easy to remember when I decided that 02-04-06 would be the day we'd get hitched. Friday was our 5th year of calling each other husband and wife.
We had dinner at Seasons 52 which is somewhat of a tradition. I just adore rustic vegetables. Yum.
I had chicken cabernet and Shane had steak and potatos. We listened to live piano music and giggled our way through our meal. I must admit I love that man of mine.

Dress ASOS Curve- It's a little too big, but I can sinch it with the built in belt in the back.
Heart necklace- Francescas
Disk Necklace- Vintage
Tights- ASDA
Shoes-Junkmans Daughter in Little 5

my favorite part of my outfit you ask?

THE BUTTONS!!!!
So cute :)

Royally lovely

I FINALLY got my ASOS Curve package that I'd ordered on boxing day (that's the day after Christmas for any non English folk). Only half of the things I ordered worked for me, but it was the good half, so I'm pretty happy.

The good (left to right);
1- The blue dress is blousey and a beautiful color. It's a little big around the bust, but I'm keeping it.
2- The long jersey dress feels so soft and so beautiful. I'll wear it a million times.
3- This purple dress is so pretty, and so comfortable. My only problem is that it wrinkles like no other dress that I have owned (see below)
4- The print dress is the same as the purple, except it is see through and comes with a black tank underneath. I like it a lot, it's more black and tan than black and white like the picture looks which makes me it a less obvious color combination. I always love outfits that have something a little different about them.
5- I bought the ruched sleeve shirt in a bright blue color. It makes me feel ladylike and cool at the same time with it's exposed zipper in the back.
The bad (left to right);
1- This beige skirt looked so awful on me that I laughed for longer than I care to admit (I wish I had have taken a photo). I'm only 5'5, so it came to my mid calf, and the stitching on the front made me look like I had enormous saddle bags. So wrong, from every angle.
2- The jeans fit OK; I had no muffin top and I liked the way they ruched at the bottom, but I couldn't get over how uncomfortable they were. I usually wear flared or wide leg jeans because I think they flatter my body shape; I was trying to be brave by trying "skinny jeans" but I think I'll stick to my usual styles.
3- This dress was way too big and the colors were muddy and made me look sick. I don't know who this dress was made for, but it was not me.
4- I loved this dress on line, and I loved how it looked when I took it out of the packet at home, but it needed alterations to fit me around the shoulders and bust. The sleeves shape is made with wire so I think it would have been too much of a difficult job to tailor. I'm sad about this one and thinking about exchanging it for a smaller size to see if that makes enough of a difference.
5- These leggings are lovely, they look lovely and they feel lovely, but they were too big. I may get these in a smaller size too.

I wore the purple dress to get coffee with my friend Kate.
I love the color of the dress, it's a gorgeous regal purple.
I also really like the asymmetric dip in the hem, it makes it look special and more interesting.

The necklace is from Charlotte Russe, my earrings are from Urban Outfitters (they're "L" initials), my leggings are from Old Navy and my shoes are from an independent store in Little 5 Points, Atlanta, GA called Junkman's Daughter.

I wore teal eyeliner because I love purple, gold and green together. I also wore "Dallas" blush by Benefit on my cheeks in an attempt to not look so pale :)
