Lace Polka Dots

I love tattoos. I have a sleeve planned in my head, I have sketchbooks full of drawings and a Pinterest board dedicated to the art.
With all this being said the only ink I actually have is a tiny little 5 point star on my right inner wrist.

    Shirt- Old Navy
    Skirt- Forever 21+
    Tights- Torrid
    Shoes- Payless
    Earrings- H&M

I've always wanted a lace tattoo, but until the day that happens, these tights will do just fine. No pain necessary!

A Festivus for the Rest of Us.

Every year for the past 4 years my friends Brian and Sahara have hosted a Festivus party. We actually air our grievances, have a Festivus pole and do the feats of strength (which usually ends up with Brian on the floor and at least one piece of furniture ends up in pieces).
This is what I wore to drink chocolate martinis by the fire pit.

Painter pants go to the pub.

My lonely star tattoo.

Summer in Georgia lasts so much longer than the rest of the world. Or at least it feels that way to me.
I'm trying not to wear so much black, so I got this beautiful cream top from TJMaxx yesterday.
It's so comfortable and light, and makes me feel like a bird or an angel the way the sleeves drape.
I wasn't really doing much today, just running errands and going to play pub trivia with the girls so I paired the cream shirt with my painting cargo pants and most favorite comfy sandals.
My husband told me that my hair looked weird today, but I think that's just code for rock and roll!

Black and white date night.

I usually don't spend too much time in "real clothes" on the weekends because I spend most of the day in work out clothes, then after I'm exhausted it's straight to the pj's!
So last night when my hubby suggested we go out for dinner I decided I would make a little more effort than just my "new zumba pants".
I will forever heart polka dots.

Dress- Forever 21+

My Chanel earrings always make me feel special...or like I should be a rapper, either way I think it's a good thing.

What is your idea of a good date night outfit?

Something old, new, borrowed and BLUE!

Today I spent hours and hours filling out the forms to apply for American Citizenship. I took a little break to try something different.
I got this shirt last December (old), but I've never worn it (new), my friend Betsey has (borrowed), and it is the brightest BLUE I have ever seen!

Shirt-ASOS Curve
Jeans- The Gap
Shoes- Torrid
Purse- Lucky Brand
Necklace- Givenchy

I loved this shirt so much when I saw it on ASOS.com, but in person it seemed a little intimidating.
The zipper detail on the back of the shirt made it look luxurious and fresh.
For some reason plus size clothes don't usually have the design elements that straight sizes have, I don't know why.
This makes me shop a lot at ASOS because I feel like they really understand my wants and needs.

I felt a little weird wearing a blue shirt with blue jeans, but it felt relaxed. I think if I had have worn the shirt with black trousers as I'd originally thought I would have looked as if I were going to "the office".
I think next time I'd wear it with a darker wash jean.

I decided to go for a matte pink lip with a hint of red to play off the bold blue shirt and neon green in my necklace.

Coincidentally my nails have been blue all week too!  (MAC "Naughty Nauticals" from 2009 in case you were wondering)

Gypsy style

My mum always sends me something lovely to wear for every Christmas and birthday. My birthday is July 4th, so I really shouldn't be wearing this at all yet, but I have my reasons ;)
I was so excited when I saw this dress as it's so perfect for Atlanta. It makes me feel like a gypsy (the kind in Cher songs, not on "My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding") I can totally read your Tarot cards if you'd like?

Dress- BHS (England)
Shoes-Torrid
Headband-Urban Outfitters

I got this headband for $5 in the Urban Outfitters sale, it's so pretty, but I think the reason it was so cheap is that it leaves indents in your head! I had a mild headache after a couple of hours I'm not gonna lie.

 Good job Mum!
This was perfect for drinking margaritas and gossiping with a good friend.

My nails really don't go with my outfit, but I don't care, they're polka dot for goodness sake!

A night on the town.

This evening me and my hubby went down town to check out an art exhibition featuring the Papertwins. We had a great time, and seen as though it was an art show and I knew everyone there would be a little edgier with their dress I decided to be brave and try a look I've admired on others for a while but have been too scared to wear myself.

The jumpsuit.

Shoes- Torrid (a million years ago)
Feather bracelet- A boutique in Nashville
Gold bracelets- Macys
Mosaic bracelet- Dorothy Perkins ( a million and one years ago)
Earrings- Fossil

I got mine from yoursclothing.co.uk for super super cheap during their end of year clearance. It was less than $20, which is pretty much the most I'll spend on something I want to "try" or is super "fashionable" and will be dated in 3 weeks tops :)

I have to say I was super comfortable all night, peeing was not a pain in the booty and I was complimented by those I knew and some strangers. The fabric is so soft that it felt as if I was wearing pajamas.
I think it may just be my summer cocktail-night staple.

Secret Garden

Maybe it's because I went to all girls Catholic school in England, but for some reason I always feel better in chilly months wearing a skirt and tights. I think they keep you warmer than pants.
This is my favorite casual dress bought from Belk. I added the buttons to make it a little more interesting. I found them in Youngbllod Gallery which is one of my favorite shops in Atlanta.

It's an art gallery and boutique with handmade arts and crafts for sale. No one else has my buttons and that makes me smile!

I look like I'm back in England! Yay for crappy weather in Atlanta. Everyone is complainig except me!
Although it doesn't do much for my hair. Eeek!
