Hey Now, Crazy Pants

For some reason I have embraced crazy looking pants. I blame this image.
Anyway, I'm kind of in love with these zany trousers, they're super comfy and made me smile whenever I looked down.
They're a bit of a fashion risk, but you only live once, right?

These were shot in Piedmont Park on a gloriously unseasonably sunny day

Color Block

I scored this maxi dress in a 70% off Target sale figuring I'd keep it and wear it next spring....I couldn't wait, so I paired it with my favorite cardigan and my trusty boots.
If Atlanta clings to summer weather, then I can cling to my summer wardrobe.

Look how beautiful my city is.

Lotus

I was shocked when I was in Target yesterday and saw Christina Aguilera has a new album out. This baby of mine is keeping me away from valuable information I tell you ;)

Anyway, I think I chose to wear this flowery dress today because I've been listening to "Lotus" (Miss Aguileras new album) and I like the symbolism behind the title;

"The lotus represents “an unbreakable flower that survives under the hardest conditions and still thrives”

Sometimes I feel like I need the strength of a lotus.

Ok, usually I hate "matchy matchy" stuff, but I am amazed at how my $3 shades match my outfit practically perfectly.

Autumn Love

Today was perfect weather. I mean PERFECT!
The sun was bright and light poured through the spaces in between brilliant shades of ruby, amber and gold leaves.
There was a slight crispness to the air, and the sky was a pure azure. Honestly I gasped more than once driving home at the sheer beauty of an Atlanta Autumn.
I am smitten with this moment.
And I am smitten with this outfit. I wore it to go to work today, and I was so very comfortable. This is going into heavy rotation.

Grey and Grape

Yesterday I was running around Target with a crying baby, when all of a sudden he fell sound asleep.
I took full advantage of the quiet and took a wander around the clothing sales racks.
There were THREE 70% off racks, I mean it would be rude not to.
That's when I saw this grape colored maxi skirt and shiny t-shirt next to each other.
It's like the universe was saying
"Take these home with you, look, they're already an outfit, you don't have to do any of the work, just put us in your basket"
....so I did.

Florals in the Garden

The nice thing about having visitors is doing all the touristy things in your city that you wouldn't normally do.

Such a beautiful view of my city

Last week me, my hubby, my mam and dad and baby Teddy went to Atlanta's Botanical Gardens for an afternoon stroll.
Me and my Mam both wore floral for the occasion ;)

My dad, me and Mam

It was so wonderful to be surrounded by the beautiful flowers in the sunshine, having the leaves fall from the super tall trees.

My favorite part of the grounds was the Orchid house, so many bright flowers in bloom.
There was a whole two walls full of potted orchids in rainbow colors.

I almost forgot I was in the middle of Atlanta.

"Real Clothes" again.

I have been spending all my time getting to know my sweet Teddy, so I've only left the house a couple of times since his birth on the 2nd. Twice to get a cup of coffee, once to go to the grocery store, and today we went to get Shanes car fixed. I know, I know, exciting, right?
Having spent so long in pajamas, I decided I'd try on some "real clothes" to go out, and luckily they fit! Hooray!
I even had time to paint my nails while Teddy took a nap!

Shirt- Target
Belt- ASOS Curve
Up until yesterday my feet were swollen so much that I could only fit into one pair of shoes, so this morning when I saw they had gone back to normal I just had to wear these booties. I scored them in the sale at Urban months ago, but haven't had an opportunity to wear them.

Suede Boots- Urban outfitters, Long Black Skirt- Macys

When you've spent a fortnight in fuzzy slippers a nice heel will make you feel like alive again...even on only a couple hours sleep.

A little lip.

Sometimes when it's steamy outside and you're 36 weeks pregnant, the only hope of looking somewhat decent is slapping on a coat of red lipstick and hoping for the best.
I decided to try a new hairstyle too because I can't be bothered to cut my bangs.

Tank- Ross
Long black maxi skirt (that you can't see)- Target

Soft: adjective, cushiony, squishy

Shirt- Macys
Skirt- Target
Booties- DSW
Necklace- The Gap

Everything about this outfit is comfortable. The shirt is as soft as any snuggy, the skirt is a delicate jersey that floats around me, and these boots are like walking on clouds made of marshmallows wrapped in cotton candy.
This outfit is Goober approved (That's my cat).

Sleeping Late

Last week one of my business partners was on vacation which meant my sleep schedule was all over the place as we had to cover different shifts than we were used to.
Every morning I am beeped awake by my alarm at 5.25am. It's still dark outside, there are few cars on the road and I allow myself 20 minutes to get ready before leaving the house. This means planning my outfits the night before and rocking the "bed head" look more often than not. But last week I got a couple of opportunities to sleep a little later and take my time to get ready. It felt nice.

Dress- Target ($8!!!!), Cardigan- Ross, Earrings- Francescas, Nail Polish- Mac "Shirelle" with a Sally Hansen heart design sticker on my ring finger.

Casual Friday.

Last night I was summoned to the bar because a friend needed to discuss her boy woes over a cold one.
I got ready in 10 minutes. I may have wanted to go in my pj's but I think for the time constraints I did pretty well.
I get confused when people tell me that they don't have time to get dressed, after all, doesn't it take the same amount of time to put on jeans as it does sweat pants and pretty flats as it does sneakers?
Granted this is not the best I have looked, but it's better than sweats and a hoodie!

 Top-Ross (It's soooooo comfortable)

Queen of Hearts

Today I was feeling a little blue, so I decided to wear my favorite color head to toe and attempt my favorite hair style to cheer me up.
It totally worked :)

I have the hardest time with "retro hair" because my hair is so thin and I always feel like I'm making it worse when I tease it, but I got Big Sexy Hair's "What a tease" and I think it works wonders.

Just a little bump.

Dress- Forever 21+
Scarf- Vintage from Kudzu
Flip flops- Target
Necklace- Birthday gift from my hubby
"L" Studs- Urban Outfitters

My hubby loved it too!

Painter pants go to the pub.

My lonely star tattoo.

Summer in Georgia lasts so much longer than the rest of the world. Or at least it feels that way to me.
I'm trying not to wear so much black, so I got this beautiful cream top from TJMaxx yesterday.
It's so comfortable and light, and makes me feel like a bird or an angel the way the sleeves drape.
I wasn't really doing much today, just running errands and going to play pub trivia with the girls so I paired the cream shirt with my painting cargo pants and most favorite comfy sandals.
My husband told me that my hair looked weird today, but I think that's just code for rock and roll!

Top- TJMaxx
Cami- Gap

Hat- The Icing
Tankini top- Old Navy
Bikini bottom skirt- Target

My mum bought me this dress and I think it's from ASDA in England. It's so comfy and I love the movement of the fabric.
My flip flops are from Target. They're the only flip flops I like to wear because the straps are fabric, so they don't rub my toes raw.

The best accessory is a real flower! I found this one on the boardwalk.

I painted my toenails a pretty pinky coral.

To beat the heat I wore my favorite vintage scarf as a headband and added yet another flower (This time not real) for interest. I felt kinda rockabilly.

I hope you enjoyed my holiday photos!
I already miss the seaside.
