A really awesome colored dirty shirt.

I feel like I'm committing some sort of blogger crime by posting a picture of myself in a dirty shirt, but you know what Internet, I own a coffee shop. So most of my life I spend wearing either coffee, bleach or dirty dish water. This shirt has all 3 of those things on it, but I had no one to take my photo this morning when I looked impeccably fresh and amazing (Ha!) so here is me haggard after a looooong day at work.

Sleeping Late

Last week one of my business partners was on vacation which meant my sleep schedule was all over the place as we had to cover different shifts than we were used to.

 Every morning I am beeped awake by my alarm at 5.25am. It's still dark outside, there are few cars on the road and I allow myself 20 minutes to get ready before leaving the house. This means planning my outfits the night before and rocking the "bed head" look more often than not. But last week I got a couple of opportunities to sleep a little later and take my time to get ready. It felt nice.

A Festivus for the Rest of Us.

 

Every year for the past 4 years my friends Brian and Sahara have hosted a Festivus party. We actually air our grievances, have a Festivus pole and do the feats of strength (which usually ends up with Brian on the floor and at least one piece of furniture ends up in pieces).

Today I ran errands that included balancing 4 lattes on my hip and purchasing pink plectrums. My outfit felt a little blah, so I added this belt that I'm in love with and found at the Lucky Exchange and swapped out my cowboy boots for my leopard print wedges. Sometimes it's the little things that make a girl smile!

I dig the retro vibe of this belt. It was a good find!

 I'm getting used to my ginger hair. My mom hates it, but I think it makes my clothes really pop!

I love these so much. They're a wide fitting, have a wedge heel, and I could dance all night in them if I wanted to.

C'est La Vie

C'est La Vie means "That's life" in French.

I wore this shirt today to remind myself not to sweat the small stuff.

Oh I love this fall weather!

Viva Barcelona!

Barcelona was one of the most inspiring places I have ever been. There is an electricity in the air that is almost tactile. Art is EVERYWHERE, on buildings, in parks, on people. 

I was completely in awe of the women in Spain. They were perfectly put together and looked like it was just a happy accident. There was no one who looked like they'd spent more than 10 minutes on their makeup; a red lip, or a kohl rimmed eye was enough.

I wanted every item of clothing that I saw in every shop window. There were hand painted silk harem pants, kimono sleeve blouses paired with cargo pants, chandelier earrings made out of wood. Everything was unexpected. 

I LOVED IT!

By the end of the trip I was definitely embracing the style that I'd seen throughout Europe. My hair was less styled, my make up was simple and I felt so relaxed. 

Well, that was my vacation, I guess it will be back to normal outfits from here on out. I hope y'all enjoyed my vacation snaps.

Today I signed my offer to work for M.A.C cosmetics as a freelance employee. I'm excited about it. I miss doing make up, and I'm so glad I get to do precisely that and not have to worry about opening store credits!

So I go back to M.A.C. (sang to Amy Winehouse's '"Back to Black)

Rias Bluebird

If you ever come to  Atlanta may I suggest that you eat breakfast at Rias Bluebird cafe.

 I'd love to tell you all about their menu, but honestly, I've never gotten past their breakfast omlette special. Me and Laura (who's also a Geordie) try to go there once every fortnight. Their biscuits are made by a God and the jelly/honey you spread on these tasty morsels changes every week because they're lovingly handmade.

Yum yum yum yum!

We had to fuel for our shopping trip which was full of school satchels, pretty dresses, cake pops and crying over things we couldn't afford. Oh well.

Spring feeling.

On Thursday night the ladies decided to get together and have a girlie night with wine and cupcakes!

I thought I'd dress sugary sweet for the occasion.

There's just something so wonderful about a floral dress.
