Dream outfit

Last Saturday I held an art show for the super talented Jonquel Norwood and Lizzy Falcon. Their theme was "fairytales gone awry" so the gallery was basically a wonderland.
With the walls basically being a celebration of kick ass chicks, It seemed like the perfect time to rock a red jumpsuit.

A love note

This is a love letter to my favorite shirt.
You made me feel like a cool 90's chick.
A little Angela chase, a little Courtney love, a little Neve Campbell.
You were a security blanket for my adult self.
I am so sorry I broke you.
You will never be replaced.

Peach lace

Sometimes you are blessed by the fashion gods and you find something that is so perfectly "you" that it sits in your closet because you're terrified to wear it incase you ruin it.
This top was on a velvet hanger for way too long, I finally gave it life today!

*sigh* it's just perfect.

Java Jive

Ou

Me and my good friend Betsy have been having breakfast dates once every couple  of weeks to chat, laugh, sometimes cry and discover all the delicious brunch offerings Atlanta has to offer.
This week we hit up Java Jive a sweet 50's diner that has been on Ponce de Leon for two thirds of my life.
We'll definitely be back!

Betsy's shoes are the moccasins; so cute!
My boots are $20 Target finds that I will wear until they fall off me.

The interior of Java Jive is so adorable. There are around 12 sets of vintage dinettes to sit at. I'm glad Betsy got there first and decided for us.

The food was definitely cooked with love, the coffee was scrumptious and the staff were super cool and laid back, but still attentive.

Who's that girl?

I recently had a crazy moment and got all of my hair chopped off.

And dyed red.

It's been a fun fall and winter do as it goes so well with my new collection of hats.

And is pretty easy to style.

Because of my highlights some of the red is really bright, and makes my green eyes pop for sure.

Sometimes you just need a drastic change....or all your nasty split ends cut off.

(Both hats by mooreaseal.com, nail color is Flower Beauty in "Venus fly trap" and my lipstick is Revlon color stay matte balm in "audacious")

Fall into a new flow

Fall is my absolute favorite.
Days like today make me want to stop time and be able to look at every sun ray bouncing off every color changing leaf.
I love this fall especially because it means  2013 is almost over.
It's been the toughest year of my life.
I'm working towards making it better, so I started my blog again, hopefully it will give me the creative outlet I so desperately need.
How are y'all anyway?

The prettiest dress

I know what you're thinking "Lynne, where the hell have you been?" And "will you ever stop wearing THAT shade of yellow?" Well, to  the second question, no. To the first, I got into a pretty horrible car accident that led to a stint in hospital. I'm ok, but I almost wasn't.
And then after that.... I have been at work. ALL.THE.TIME. My business partner has been on mandatory bed rest for a while which has meant that I have been working open to close every day. Things are nuts.
Anyway, it's nice to see you. I miss you. How are y'all doing?

Eye liner gods were smiling on me today :)

A really awesome colored dirty shirt.

I feel like I'm committing some sort of blogger crime by posting a picture of myself in a dirty shirt, but you know what Internet, I own a coffee shop. So most of my life I spend wearing either coffee, bleach or dirty dish water. This shirt has all 3 of those things on it, but I had no one to take my photo this morning when I looked impeccably fresh and amazing (Ha!) so here is me haggard after a looooong day at work.

90's kid

I was born in 1984.
When I remember my adolescence I think of floral dresses that buttoned up the front, canvas shoes with chunky souls, neon, Clarissa on Nickelodeon and thinking that Angela Chase was the coolest girl in the world.
As an adult I realization there are more 90's experiences that I missed out on. I didn't really hear Hip Hop until late high school for goodness sake.
I think this outfit is a reflection of the 90's I missed out on. The "fly girl", Tupac and Biggie listening, hammer pants wearing youth I didn't live because I was on another planet.

Size "Lynne" please!

Every now and again someone asks me where I got my pants/shirt/jacket etc, and every now and again the answer is "Anthropologie". Any time that is my answer, the person asking inevitably squints their eyes a little as if to say "they make her size there?" Well, let me answer that question for all y'all.

No.

Anthropologie does not carry an 18, 20, or 22 in a skirt or pant, or do they offer a 3xl in any shirt or cardigan, but sometimes an XL can be sufficient. Because you know what? You never know until you try!
So I encourage you all, when you see something you love, try it on! You never know...unless it's a size 6 or something, that will never work ;)

Winter Warmth

I got this amazing blanket sweater from Simply Be recently. I placed my order weeks and weeks ago, and knowing that Atlanta usually has maybe 3 days of sweater weather I was watching my mailbox everyday!
When it finally got here it was still cold enough outside so I wrapped myself in its deliciousness and enjoyed every minute.
I wish winter would last longer.
