Calling Calvin

Sometimes you buy a shirt or a pair of pants, or a pair of shoes that you love so much you curse yourself for not buying multiples. This shirt is one of those items.
It's the most forgiving fabric, it is cozy and a lovely color, but it has a hole in it, multiple coffee stain remnants and I should really think about getting rid of it, but I just can't. It's just the most perfect casual Fall top. Oh Calvin, how do I find another?

Spot the comeback

On Friday I made my debut back at work since having baby Ted.
As an owner of a coffee shop/art gallery I can pretty much wear whatever I fancy as long as I don't care if it gets coffee stains on it.
It was hard to be away from my baby (I thought about him constantly), but it was nice to see everyone and drink awesome coffee!
I got a little bit of work done too.

This is what I wore

I REALLY like polka dots.

Listen to the Darkside

Last night me and my buddy Logan went to see Charlie Mars.

I was a little bummed because we were told he was going on at 8pm, and didn't go on until 10.30pm. I ended up leaving at 11.15pm because I was worried that I'd get in an accident if I let my already sleep deprived self drive home.
Those 45 minutes were stellar though.
After seeing him play by himself 3 times, it was a treat to see him with a band behind him.
I'm sad I missed my favorite songs, but Charlie actually told me to go.
I thought "Should I stay for one more song?" and he started playing 'No Place Like Home", hard to argue with that.

Grey and Grape

Yesterday I was running around Target with a crying baby, when all of a sudden he fell sound asleep.
I took full advantage of the quiet and took a wander around the clothing sales racks.
There were THREE 70% off racks, I mean it would be rude not to.
That's when I saw this grape colored maxi skirt and shiny t-shirt next to each other.
It's like the universe was saying
"Take these home with you, look, they're already an outfit, you don't have to do any of the work, just put us in your basket"
....so I did.

Falling for you

This Falls trends are not really my thing. (Except the Polka Dots, of course)

A puffy jacket is not needed in Atlanta, nor wanted in my wardrobe.
I think pajamas should stay in the bedroom.
A leather t-shirt seems highly high maintenance.
 Oxblood washes me out.
And I have tried to embrace the skinny leg trouser/jean, but alas, my body does not feel flattered. I am a die hard wide leg/flared leg kind of girl, and although this means I can not buy a pair of trousers until the fashion world decides to be on my side it will not hinder my love of all things Autumn.

Here is the inspiration I'm using to put together my Fall outfits this year.

Rule Breaker

Today I got the babe ready in record time and we made our way to the coffee shop to meet a friend for conversation and baby hugs.
I think this is my favorite outfit post baby. It's super comfortable, is buttoned down the front so I can breast feed and it begs to be paired with a red lip.
I don't care what the fashion magazines "rules" are, I'm wearing horizontal stripes!

I'm still digging my haircut, even though I think I need more bangs.

Yup, I'm still obsessed with my red shoes.

Snip Snip

Hey! I got my hair cut!
I went to SalonRed in Decatur on a total whim because they had a sign outside that said "We love walk-ins" and my parents were sweet enough to watch Teddy for me.

Now I just need to learn how to do this rock star blow out!

It's Fall Y'all

I don't know where the time is going, but it's going and fast.
Yesterday me and my family went for a walk around Candler Park, the weather was beautiful. Even though it was 80 degrees, the leaves were falling, there was a breeze and I got to wear my Fall boots. Hooray! In HOTlanta you take your opportunities while you can.

My post baby body is different to how it used to be. My hips are wider, my belly is squishy in a way it hasn't been before, and my breasts are so tender that they only want to be in a soft sleep bra. This makes my pre-baby clothes fit differently; and honestly it's hard to get used to.
It may just be the sleep deprivation, or my body needing more time to heal, but I don't feel great in my skin. I think once I get back into working out I'll feel better (I hope I have the energy somehow), or I may just need time to adjust to my new shape. We shall see. I am actually very proud of what my body has accomplished, so I shouldn't beat myself up, I just need time...and until then I shall belt flowy tops to define my waist and wear "Look at me" footwear.

I'm so in love with these fringed boots. A major score at Ross for $30!

Any Moms out there feel the way I do? Does it get better?
I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Florals in the Garden

The nice thing about having visitors is doing all the touristy things in your city that you wouldn't normally do.

Such a beautiful view of my city

Last week me, my hubby, my mam and dad and baby Teddy went to Atlanta's Botanical Gardens for an afternoon stroll.
Me and my Mam both wore floral for the occasion ;)

My dad, me and Mam

It was so wonderful to be surrounded by the beautiful flowers in the sunshine, having the leaves fall from the super tall trees.

My favorite part of the grounds was the Orchid house, so many bright flowers in bloom.
There was a whole two walls full of potted orchids in rainbow colors.

I almost forgot I was in the middle of Atlanta.
