Something old, new, borrowed and BLUE!

Today I spent hours and hours filling out the forms to apply for American Citizenship. I took a little break to try something different.
I got this shirt last December (old), but I've never worn it (new), my friend Betsey has (borrowed), and it is the brightest BLUE I have ever seen!

Jeans- The Gap
Shoes- Torrid
Purse- Lucky Brand
Necklace- Givenchy

I loved this shirt so much when I saw it on ASOS.com, but in person it seemed a little intimidating.
The zipper detail on the back of the shirt made it look luxurious and fresh.
For some reason plus size clothes don't usually have the design elements that straight sizes have, I don't know why.
This makes me shop a lot at ASOS because I feel like they really understand my wants and needs.

I felt a little weird wearing a blue shirt with blue jeans, but it felt relaxed. I think if I had have worn the shirt with black trousers as I'd originally thought I would have looked as if I were going to "the office".
I think next time I'd wear it with a darker wash jean.

I decided to go for a matte pink lip with a hint of red to play off the bold blue shirt and neon green in my necklace.

Coincidentally my nails have been blue all week too!  (MAC "Naughty Nauticals" from 2009 in case you were wondering)

Wear your heart on your chest!

A good old fashioned T-Shirt is one of the best friends a gal can have.
This one is my favorite.
Seriously. I LOVE it.

My sister bought it for my husband in 2008, and it's not really his style, so I took it off his hands and have worn it at least once a week since then.
It is from the H&M mens department. It feels super soft and I love that the stitching is a contrasting red to the grey fabric.
Most of my t-shirts are from the mens department because I like the way they skim instead of hug my tummy as much as a ladies tee does.

I recommend having a few band t-shirts that you can throw on with jeans and a cardigan on colder days.
I love when a band tee is worn like a plain tee and people throw on lots of jewellery, or a patterned jacket/cardigan with it.

I also really like it when people have messages on their t-shirts that make me smile like Miss Buttahlove(below)!

I'm still looking for a Rick Astley t-shirt in an XL, if anyone finds one, holla! :)

I'm a little crafty

Today it rained, and I took Midol PM in the morning by accident, so the day was a little foggy. Oops.
I used the time before my 3rd cup of coffee kicked in to jazz up some beaten up flip flops.

I took a scarf that had a hole in it and cut it into 1 inch squares and tied them in double knots around the band that goes on the top of the foot.
This looks pretty nifty, but is also much more comfy for me as I hate the feeling of rubber flip flops!
I may wear them once, but hey, I got a "new" pair of shoes for zero dollars!

Any one have any cool stories about clothes they've overhauled?

Snapshot

My good friend David Jennings took some snaps of me and my business partner Krystle last week. It was 100 degrees, we were miserable, but he's such a good make up artist that you'd never know! Good job David!

Oz

Gypsy style

My mum always sends me something lovely to wear for every Christmas and birthday. My birthday is July 4th, so I really shouldn't be wearing this at all yet, but I have my reasons ;)
I was so excited when I saw this dress as it's so perfect for Atlanta. It makes me feel like a gypsy (the kind in Cher songs, not on "My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding") I can totally read your Tarot cards if you'd like?

Dress- BHS (England)
Shoes-Torrid
Headband-Urban Outfitters

I got this headband for $5 in the Urban Outfitters sale, it's so pretty, but I think the reason it was so cheap is that it leaves indents in your head! I had a mild headache after a couple of hours I'm not gonna lie.

 Good job Mum!
This was perfect for drinking margaritas and gossiping with a good friend.

My nails really don't go with my outfit, but I don't care, they're polka dot for goodness sake!

Party Dress.

Yesterday was Leah's birthday. She decided that the best way to celebrate this would be to go to a Japanese karaoke bar and sing some tunes in a private room. It was a LOT of fun, especially when we did a "kamikaze round" which means other people pick the songs you sing.
We're both wearing dresses that we found at Marshalls
Leah's shoes are from Target
My shoes are from Payless, they look like this;

Leah's necklace is her birthday present from me. I got it at Francesca's, a local boutique.

I think we looked pretty spiffy :)
